The twisted shank dogbone western bit has a severe action due to its shape and the action of its shanks. Its shape allows for easy control of the horse.
The double joint locks into a straight bit, allowing effective control when forward pressure is too strong. When the horse returns to a lighter contact, the bit softens.
This copper bit has a rust-proof stainless steel finish.
