The François Gauthier antique bit is a bit with a curved and pierced mouthpiece in 5" soft iron inlaid with copper. The barrels are made of stainless steel with short 5 1/2" shanks with three steel points. This is an excellent transition bit from the snaffle bit. It is good for teaching basic maneuvers and is very comfortable for young horses.
