Care

If a soft iron bit is not used for some time, a layer of orange-brown rust may form on the barrel. This can be easily removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.

This double-jointed bit features a barrel made of cherry-colored rollers and a sweet iron coating. The moving cherry-colored rollers encourage your horse to grasp the rollers and play with them. This not only ensures relaxation, but also promotes natural saliva production and good acceptance of the bit. In addition, the moving rollers make it more difficult for the horse to grasp the bit.

Product Features:

  • Sweet Iron bits are made of blue steel and release a sweet-tasting surface rust when exposed to saliva. This sweet taste stimulates salivation, causing the horse to foam more at the mouth and better accept the bit.
  • The anatomical design conforms to the shape of the horse's mouth, creating a smooth and even distribution of pressure. A double-jointed bit has a three-piece mouthpiece. The center of the mouthpiece rests flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than a single-jointed bit. The thicker the center, the greater the pressure on the tongue.
  • A ring bit is a bit with separate bit rings. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the cannon is relatively loose in the mouth.

Other relevant information:

  • Cherry rolls provide a more relaxed feeling in the jaws
  • The soft iron layer stimulates natural saliva formation
  • The barrel is relatively loose in the mouth for good bit acceptance
